Hail, Rain and Tornadoes in California
The Associated Press reported today that intense thunder and hail storms hit southern California yesterday, increasing the threat of mudslides and causing flood damage to roads and homes. It has been a year of record rainfall in the area, and since Thursday, Los Angeles has had approximately 2 inces of rain.
Power went down for thousands as a result of the storms, and periodic showers are expected for several more days throughout the state.
Two tornatoes also briefly touched down in Riverside and San Diego counties, doing damage to power lines and homes. No injuries have been reported.
